Students maintain confidentiality, examine legal aspects of the medical record, perform quality improvement procedures, examine legal and bioethical issues, and demonstrate awareness of diversity.
534-300Central Serv Tech, Fundamentls31st 8 Weeks | Program student | Minimum grade of "B-" required.Introduces packaging, cleaning techniques, care, handling, identification, and usage of instruments, equipment and supplies, basic aseptic techniques and patient centered practices in the lab setting. Students will also spend time working in a Central Service Department at a local hospital.
534-302Central Serv Tech Clinical12nd 8 Weeks | Program student; 534-300 or concurrent | Minimum grade of "B-" required.Learner is given the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the clinical setting at a local hospital. Time will be spent in the central service department as well as the operating room.

If a student does not enroll in any courses at CVTC for two or more consecutive semesters, the student will be required to reapply with Admissions. Students must abide by any changes in admission requirements and degree requirements.
