IT - Network Specialist Overview

Do you have a passion for new technology? Do you enjoy problem-solving? The Information Technology - Network Specialist program at CVTC teaches students how to install, configure, and administer the networking equipment and network services that are common in LAN and WAN environments.

The IT - Network Specialist program will teach you how to:

  • Install and manage network operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Unix, and Linux.
  • Install and troubleshoot client and server computer hardware and software.
  • Manage various types of directory services.
  • Implement network and user security.
  • Monitor network event logs for problem resolution.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware.

This course introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and other computer networks.

Microsoft Server 1
This course allows the learner to acquire necessary skills for supporting and configuring Windows Server including installation and configuration of an Active Directory Domain.

This course will provide the learner with the skills necessary to install, configure, manage and troubleshoot enterprise OS and application virtualization and storage management.
