Get Credit for Courses You Took in High School

CVTC maintains articulation agreements with many area high schools. These agreements are an arrangement between your high school and CVTC, where a class you take in your high school counts for credit at the College. When you enroll at CVTC, you won't have to retake something you already took in high school, saving you time and money. CVTC offers two types of articulated credit:

Transcripted Credit

These are CVTC courses, using college textbooks and materials, but they are taught in your high school by your teacher. College credits are awarded and recorded on a CVTC transcript upon successful completion of the course. Courses taken for college credit appear on your transcript and will be transferable to other technical colleges with the same program.

Advanced Standing

These courses are taught at your high school by your high school teacher. If you complete the course with a grade of "B" or better, you become eligible to receive advanced standing credit when you pursue an associate’s degree or technical diploma. Students must be accepted into a CVTC program to receive Advanced Standing credit.
